SAN ANDREAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS LAUNCHES NEW INMATE WORK PROGRAM
###
The San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (SADCR) is proud to announce the launch of its new Inmate Work Program aimed at providing employment opportunities for eligible inmates within the San Andreas State Prison, Fort Carson (SASP-FC). This initiative is designed to equip inmates with valuable skills that will aid in securing employment post-release, thereby reducing recidivism rates. The program also seeks to foster a sense of community and contribution among inmates through productive activity.

The Inmate Work Program offers a variety of positions, each tailored to support the day-to-day operations of the facility. These positions include Porter, Laundry Worker, Food Service Worker, Library Assistant, Commissary Clerk, and Barber. Each role is carefully structured to ensure inmates are engaged in meaningful work while adhering to safety and procedural standards.

Inmates interested in joining the program can approach any correctional officer to inquire about available assignments. Eligibility is determined through a comprehensive review of the inmate's arrest and disciplinary history, followed by an interview to assess their suitability for specific roles. Upon successful training, inmates are considered officially employed within the program and are required to attend their designated shifts.

Program participation is closely monitored by both frontline officers and administrative staff. Inmates are expected to maintain positive behavior both on and off duty, as any violations may result in temporary or permanent removal from the program. This structured approach ensures that the Inmate Work Program remains a productive and beneficial component of the rehabilitation process within SASP-FC.
